Humans and stupidity

I recently figured out why people like beer, drugs and other mind altering substances so much...IT MAKES THEM STUPID!!! I'm sure you've seen at least one video of some drunk guy trying to put on pants, walk up a hill, buy beer or put on a flip-flop. They fail at even the simplest tasks because they have willingly rendered themselves utter morons. When I shared this on Facebook I got the following reply from my aunt, "Stupidity is bliss". Why is that? Why would Homo sapiens want to forsake the weapon that made him king of the world? It's completely backwards!
